I had no idea about this and am so grateful for the information. I saw the movie, War Horse, and could not sleep for two nights afterwards. I am thinking now about all the dogs who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Some made it home. So many didn't.

I know. I read that there is an organization that tries to reunite the dogs with the service men and women who worked with them.
