First, I'd like to say that YES, speaking about and/or writing about "things that scare us or experiences we feel alone in" is of course very helpful, and therapeutic. A huge weight can lift when you can find the courage to voice scary or painful thoughts you've been harbouring. For me, it's writing that's always been a way to manage, understand, and work out my thoughts and feelings. Particularly journal writing.

But I would also like to say, thank you for reminding me of Pnin, which I haven't read for probably 30 years! Pnin was my introduction to Nabokov—who I then binged on—and it would probably be a delight to read it now. ALSO—I keep reading *about* Ferrante's work but still haven't read her, so thank you for the nudge on that.
