I just came across this resource from Facing History and wanted to share it with you. It is especially useful for teachers and parents and anyone else who might be wondering how to teach (or learn) about genocide.
In November, I wrote about the Holodomor, a genocide that took place in Ukraine in 1932-33. (You can find the post in the Sift. Shift. Lift. archives.) I plan to address the Holocaust and Armenian genocide in future issues of Sift. Shift. Lift. and will no doubt return to this site for reference. I believe we must confront our history in order to fully appreciate and respond to the threats in our world—our communities—today.
