I've just signed up for your newsletter and really appreciate the first few issues I've read. The Blackfish effect is one that is close to home. I live ten minutes from Sea World and it was interesting to read all over again about the film's effect.
Thanks Elizabeth. Writing this made me want to watch the movie with my 12-year-old twins this weekend. I imagine the film’s effect might have been quite divisive in the community around SeaWorld, especially since the park was a major employer. Glad you are enjoying my posts so far.
The first thing I thought when I started reading about shared values is that in the USA at least, those are being actively stolen. Intentionally ripped out from under us. We absolutely must regulate social media to have any hope of turning things around for the six case studies. Every one of those conversations is important.
The recommendation to design a long-term strategy rooted in values will not work unless there is robust regulatory oversight about what information Facebook and other channels are allowed to sell and spread. Once someone's brain has been psychologically weaponized, it is almost impossible for a counter-narrative to take root.
It has taken me three decades to unlearn my childhood and relearn better stories, and I like to think I'm a fast learner but that might just be Dunning-Kreuger.

This is absolutely fantastic! I immediately bookmarked and will go visit in the morning for perusal. How useful. I thank you and will be back.
That’s great. Let me know what you think when you read the report.
I'm still reading by the way. It will take me possibly days to absorb it all.
